第32回笹田デザインコンペティション「FUSE ONE 一つに融合」の為に。
15分間のパフォーマンスアート。
このイベントの為にガンダーラ芸術のブッダを描写。
このブッダは西洋とアジアの融合物で、紀元前4世紀のアレクサンダー大王がもたらしたヘレニズム文化によって生まれました。
ギリシャ芸術の影響を色濃く残し、掘りの深い造詣と髪のうねりはミロのヴィーナスと同じウエーブが見られます。
ブッダが初めて人間の形として現れた記念すべき「西洋と東洋の融合」彫刻です。
このコンペティションのコンセプト「FUSE ONE」に添うものと思い考えました。
音楽は、和とオペラの融合に三味線のテイストを加えました。
Painted 15mins Gandhara Buddha for the event.The Buddha art is the artistic manifestation of Greco-Buddhism, a cultural syncretism between the Classical Greek culture and Buddhism, which developed over a period of close to 1000 years in Central Asia, between the conquests of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BCE, and the Islamic conquests of the 7th century CE. The art is characterized by the strong idealistic realism and sensuous description of Hellenistic art and the first representations of the Buddha in human form, which have helped define the artistic (and particularly, sculptural) canon for Buddhist art throughout the Asian continent up to the present. It is also a strong example of cultural syncretism between eastern and western traditions. I think the concept suits the event called [FUSE ONE].
